Whether your week is filled with work, studying, baking, cleaning, teaching, or taking care of little ones, you can bring your daily activities to God in prayer.

We all like to start our week off well and end it on a good note. Even with the busyness of life, and the challenges that are sprinkled throughout our week, we can ask God to bless the week ahead, and help us to have a good week, no matter what we face.

There is nothing that you can’t invite Him into because He is the God of the big and small details, so don’t forget that He cares for you, even in the details throughout your week that might seem mundane.

If you’re preparing for the week ahead, here are a few prayers that I hope will be useful to you, and fill your days with goodness from above.

1. Prayer for Strength This Week

When you are starting a new week, it’s important to feel refreshed and energized. If you’re lucky, the weekend is a great time to recharge and prepare yourself for the upcoming week. However, even with enough rest, we can still feel weary, and unprepared for the week ahead. Whether you feel ready or not, you can always ask God to grant you the strength that you will need to face the week head-on.

Lord,

Thank You for carrying me through another week. As one week comes to an end, I am preparing for a new week. Thank You for the grace of experiencing each day, and each new week.

I know that there are weeks when I feel overwhelmed, and forget to lean on You for strength and guidance. But this week I truly want to rely on You, and Your strength to get me through.

As I step into a new week, I ask that You would remind me of Your constant presence. Please keep me from getting too distracted or reliant on my own wisdom, or strength, that I forget to turn to You as my source, and my strength.

In those times when I feel overwhelmed, anxious, weary, or confused, I ask that You would fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Please help me to take the time to bring my burdens, concerns and worries to You, knowing that You care for me, even in the small details of my life.

When I am feeling weary and worn out, I ask that You lift up my head, and give me the strength to keep going. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

2. Prayer For A Good Start To The Week

It can be a little discouraging when the first day of the week feels like it is setting us up for a terrible week ahead. Those blue Mondays are infamous for making the week feel like something we don’t look forward to. Even if things don’t go the way we plan, we can still ask God to help us have a good start to the week, and help us turn even the inconveniences of the day around, helping us to focus on what is good.

Father,

I am so grateful that I can come to You in prayer. It doesn’t matter what day it is, or how that day is going, You are there for me, and that is something I don’t want to forget or take for granted.

As I prepare myself for this new week, my prayer is that You would go before me, and help me to have a good start to the week. Instead of being filled with anxiety or dread, please fill me with joy, peace, and contentment.

Help me to see all the things that I can be grateful for, rather than the things that I don’t have, or aren’t working out the way I may have expected it to. Help me to see those around me, and the tasks that I have through a different lens, remembering that everything I do, and how I do it has the ability to bring You worship.

Please help me enter this week feeling encouraged and hopeful. Not because everything is easy, but because of the hope that I have in Christ, that is not only for today, or the rest of the week, but that is a reality to me both now and forever. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

3. Prayer For A Good Week At Work

It’s not always easy to feel enthusiastic about work. However, we all know that work is a big part of our daily lives, and it often takes up many hours in our week. Whether work is something you look forward to, or not, depending on the day, you can ask God to help you to have a good week at work.

Lord,

Thank You for blessing me with a job. I know it’s not always easy to view work as a blessing because it can be tough sometimes, but I know that the ability to work, and to have an income is a blessing. Please help me to view work in that light more often.

I ask that You would bless this week at work, and help me to be a blessing to those who I come in contact with as well. Please help me to have an attitude of joy, gratitude, and peace at work. Help me to be a peacemaker in the workplace, and to be on peaceable terms with others as long as it is dependent on me.

Please give me the patience, guidance and wisdom to do my work, and to do it well. When I am feeling discouraged, I ask that You would lift me up, and carry me through the day.  Remind me that I am ultimately working for You, and not more man.

Help me to be productive and efficient in my work this week. Please fill me with the focus, energy, and wisdom that I need to do my work throughout this week. In Jesus’ name, amen.

4. Prayer For A Good Week At School

Whether you’re in high school, or college, the school week is often filled with reading assignments, lectures, tests and more. It takes up a lot of space in our minds, and lives as a whole, so it only makes sense to pray that our time at school would be fruitful, and something to look forward to.

Father,

Thank You for another week of Your faithfulness, and for carrying me through a week of school. As I get ready for another week of school, my prayer is that You will fill me with enthusiasm, and a desire to learn, and grow in my understanding.

I ask that You bless this week at school, and help me to get through it in one piece. Help me not only endure my classes, but to apply myself, and show a true interest in the things that I am being taught.

Please give me understanding for any new topics that I will be learning about, and give me the courage to ask questions when I am uncertain about anything. Grant me focus, and perseverance. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

5. Prayer to Trust God During The Week

Every new week comes with its own set of challenges. Whether that is related to work, family, needs or personal struggles that we face. It can be easy for us to fall into the pattern of trusting in our own wisdom or relying on our own strength, forgetting to turn to God in those moments. Every day we are faced with a decision to trust God, especially in tough times, or when waiting is required. This week, ask Him to help you place your trust in Him anew.

Dear God,

I don’t know what lies ahead this week, but I know that You do. You not only know, but You are sovereign over all the details, and there is nothing that happens without Your knowledge of it.

I confess, there are many times when I rely on my own understanding, or try to go about things my own way without seeking Your guidance. Please forgive me for those times, and help me to understand how important it is so place my trust in You.

There are already so many things on my mind that I am anticipating this week. Please keep me from being anxious about them, and help me to bring them to You in prayer. Please give me peace as I walk into this week, and help me place my trust in Your capable hands.

Your word says that You already know what we need. Please help me to remember that You care about me, and that You know my needs. Help me to fix my eyes not merely on the material, or things of this earth, but to look to You, and fix my mind on the things above. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
