Prayers For My Future Wife

Prayer for her heart

Lord, I thank You for creating my wonderful future wife. Though I may not know her, or maybe she’s already in my life and I don’t know it yet. I do know that her heart is the place where everything else flows out of. It is the place where You do Your greatest work in us, and the place where sin entangles us.

I pray that You would lead her to Your word as her life source. As she reads Your word, Lord, I pray that You would allow it to pierce through any parts of her heart that do not belong to You. If there are hidden affections that keep her from loving You, Lord, I pray that You would reveal it to her and bring her to surrender it to You.

Please help her to keep her heart guarded because out of it flows all the issues of life. Transform her heart in such a way that her speech, deeds and thoughts all reflect You, Lord.

Prayer for her faith

Father God, I just want to lift up my future wife before You today. The fact that we can even experience faith is due to Your grace. You know exactly where she stands with You today. She may be a new believer or have been a Christian for many years. She may not know You at all, at this point in her life. Wherever she is, Lord, my prayer is that You would lead her into true faith in You.

I pray that it would not be a faith that is fickle or that is her family because of her upbringing, but a faith that is hers. Dear Heavenly Father, there are so many things in life that fight to steal our joy. Whether that be difficult circumstances, the people that we are surrounded by, or even the enemy. Having joy in those hardships is not easy, but I know that the joy that You give us is especially meant for times like that.

I don’t know whether she is experiencing joy today. But Lord, I pray that You would lead her to know Your joy. You are aware of the areas in her life where she has been robbed of joy and that feels dreadful to her. I pray that You would work in those areas of her life, and show her that she can know joy in You amid that situation.

I pray that the joy of the Lord would be her strength. Please help her to hold onto Your promises and to find hope in You, no matter how hopeless things may feel. Let her joy not simply be determined by external factors, but by her relationship with You.

Lord, I thank You that we don’t have to walk this road of life and faith on our own. You’ve made us be in community with others who can encourage, challenge, and keep us accountable.

I know that community is not always easy to find. My prayer is that You would surround my future wife with a good community of people. I pray that You would bring friends into her life who love You and seek her best interest. I pray that You would help her to choose her friends wisely and to separate herself from friendships that may be leading her away from You.

Lord, I want to pray for my future wife’s character. That it would far outweigh her outward beauty, although You have made her beautiful.
