Prayers for Unborn Baby For Your Baby’s Purpose

Dear Lord,

Thank You for this fearfully and wonderfully created baby that You have knit together inside of me. God, You are a thoughtful and intentional Giver of Life. There will never be another quite like them. Every bit of her beautiful body (or his if it’s a boy) is crafted into uniqueness by Your divine hands. Even now, You have laid out their path before them and made them with a specific purpose in mind. As a mother, I know I will have my own desires for my child’s life, but I pray, Lord, that You will help me to commit their life to Your trustworthy hands. Please establish their footsteps as they grow into the person who You have created them to be. In our world today, may their brightness (as carriers of Your Glory) outshine the darkness. May they be set apart for the work of Your Kingdom and be a constant reminder of Your goodness and kindness. Grant legal protection for unborn children. I put my confidence in You as You safeguard the precious lives of the unborn babies whom You have chosen to use for Your glory.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Human life is truly an incredible gift from You, our Creator. There is none like You. You have created all the world and within it You created life. You have breathed life into this little one’s body and have made room in the world for their wonderful presence. Lord,

How do I even begin to thank You for this incredible gift of miracle growing inside me? I never want to lose sight of the privilege it is to not only carry this baby but to be their mother for all the days of their life. May their entrance into the world, and even their life in the womb be filled with love, peace, and joy. Thank You for entrusting me with their lives and allowing me to walk through this life alongside them. My prayer is that their lives would be dedicated to You and that they would serve You all the days of their life. Let me never lose sight of the sanctity of life and the good things You’ve blessed me with. Grant me strength, Lord, to face labor and delivery in the easy way You provide, and may I declare words of life and encouragement throughout this journey.

For Your Baby to Know their Identity in Christ

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Before you were born I set you apart.

As we anticipate the arrival of our little infant, we lift them up to You. We pray that from their first moments, even if they can’t explain it yet, they feel surrounded by the infinite love of God. May their identity be rooted in Christ Jesus, the source of eternal life.

Guard them from anything that might harm them, the wickedness of the devil, and any bad influences they encounter in the future. And oh, how I long to see today’s generation of little children encountering the presence of God!

Help us, as parents, to teach them Your ways and to instill in them a deep understanding of who they are in You—as we ensure that we are aligned and doing in the same direction. Let Your Spirit work in their hearts, revealing to them the great things You have planned for them. This is what we long to achieve, with Your help, as they grow up.

Right now my little baby is shielded safely from the world outside. Although I am so eager to meet them, part of me also fears the dangers of the world that they will be entering. But here You are today, calming my heart and reminding me gently that You know every intimate detail of this little life inside of me.

I pray that they will grow up knowing who they are in Christ, and stand firmly as a loved, forgiven, and redeemed believer in a confusing world. Help me as their mom, to teach them who You are, and let their identity grow out of their knowledge of You. Cover them with the Blood of Jesus Christ.

We dedicate this little child to You, trusting in Your good work and Your perfect plan. The greatest gift parents can receive is to see their children walk closely with You, our Loving Lord, all the days of their lives, knowing that they are loved beyond measure and in a very special way.

Lord, despite all my best efforts on the outside, I know that only You are fully in control of this tiny life inside of me. I know that You pay close attention to every detail of their being and that You have made them uniquely. Help me to entrust their life to You, and help me to remember that You are trustworthy. Please help me to surrender any anxious or fearful thoughts to You. Grant me Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

As I navigate through the journey of pregnancy, You Lord, know all of my worries. But today, I find comfort in knowing that You are intimately involved in every aspect of my baby’s development inside this special place You have called “mother’s womb”. I lean on Your strength and guidance, especially during daunting doctor’s appointments and moments of physical pain. Grant me the wisdom to trust Your divine plan and the courage to surrender my worries to You. I pray for medical staff wisdom, and instill in me, a pregnant woman, great faith in Your unfailing love.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this beautiful gift that You have given me as a pregnant mother. I still remember the pure happiness that flooded me when I saw that positive result on the pregnancy test. But all pregnant women will agree that although the journey is miraculous it is also uncomfortable at times. There are days where my own strength fails me, and I am weary of the waiting. Help me to turn to You on those days, because it is in my weakness that Your strength is perfected. Give me the ability to endure the sickness, pain, and discomfort knowing that there is a precious reward at the end of it all. Grant me, Lord, good health and strength to navigate through each day with grace and resilience.

Heavenly Father,

Your Holy Scriptures say that before you formed my baby in my womb, you already knew them. And before their day of birth, you consecrated them and appointed them to be used for Your glory. How amazing it is to know that You know my little one long before I get to meet them. In Your divine plan, You have given my baby a head start even before they enter this world, shielding them from the dangers of this life. You know what they will be like and You know their unique needs. As I prepare for their arrival, guide me in Your wisdom on how best to take care of them not only in my womb but when they make their grand entrance. Help me to turn to Your word as my compass to lead them in the way of life and truth.
