Prayers For Better Days
1. A Prayer When You Are In A Difficult Season
John 16:33:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Dear God,
I love You so much but right now I am struggling to walk through this difficult season in my life. I know that You can take these hard times and turn them around for good. I come to You today asking for a renewed sense of hope and courage for my journey.
Lord, I choose to praise You for Your goodness and love even during these difficult times. I thank You that Your mercies are new each day and that You promise never to leave or abandon me. I will cling to Your promises in the midst of the trials in my life.
Thank You, Jesus, for Your compassion and love that continues to sustain me as I walk this road with You. I love You, Lord!
Amen
2. A Prayer For Hope When You Are Struggling
Romans 15:13:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I am struggling in my walk with You right now and I need You to lift me up and revive my soul. Please, by the power of Your Holy Spirit within me, allow me to overflow with hope and give me the joy and peace my soul is longing for.
Give me strength and hope to keep pushing on toward the goal, knowing that You have good plans for my life. Thank You that You are compassionate toward me and give me everything I need to live a godly life in Christ. I will trust in You.
I know that You see my pain and You comfort me, giving me hope for a better tomorrow. I praise You, Lord!
Amen
3. A Prayer To Ease Anxiety & Worries
Psalm 55:22:
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
Dear Faithful God,
I am anxious and worried about so many things in my life, and it is stealing my peace and joy. Please give me the grace to be able to release all of these concerns back to the Lord and leave them at the foot of the cross. In Your great mercy, give me peace and rest.
I want to trust in You with all of my heart, knowing that You love me and have given Your life so that I can have an abundant life in Christ. You care for me perfectly and have always provided for all my needs.
Instead of allowing worries to consume me, I present my prayers and requests to God with a heart full of gratitude. Then the peace of God will guard my heart and mind. Let it be so, sweet Jesus!
Amen
4. A Prayer When Things Are Out Of Your Control
Proverbs 3:5-6:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Lord God,
You know that I like to be in control and have things go according to my plan. However, there are things in my life right now that are out of my hands. Help me trust that You have everything under control and are working all things out for my good and Your glory.
I know that the God who holds the universe in His hands is big enough to take perfect care of my life as well. Help me truly submit my whole life to You, knowing You will guide me on the path that leads to life and faith. Give me the faith to trust You with each step I take.
Thank You for the grace and peace that equip me for this journey, and may my faith be strengthened as I continue to trust in You. You are so good to me.
Amen
5. A Prayer For Endurance To Make It To Better Days
Isaiah 40:29,31:
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Dear Father God,
I know that You are with me, but I feel so worn down by the trials that I am walking through right now. Please renew my spirit and give me the strength to persevere through these difficulties. I put my hope in You and believe that You will give me just enough strength and grace to get through each day.
My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. Let me be strong in the strength of the Lord. Thank You for Your love and compassion for me. You are my refuge and strength, a very present help at all times. Let my soul find rest in You alone.
Lord, I know that You are working all things out for my good and I rejoice that Your powerful strength gives me glorious hope at what You have in store for me.
Hallelujah!
Amen
6. A Prayer For Peace That Passes Understanding
Philippians 4:6-7:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I feel such unrest in my life, and I am desperate for the relief that only Your supernatural peace can bring. I am trying so hard to be faithful to You, but my soul needs to be restored. Please allow me to find rest in Christ alone.
Lord, You tell us that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds if we present our requests to You and so I lay my heart and life down before You once more in surrender, pleading for the peace that overcomes my anxieties and calms my fears.
You give us peace, not as the world gives but as You alone can give it, and You gently remind us not to have troubled hearts or to be afraid. I receive this promise from You today and praise God for how tenderly You care for me.
Amen.
7. A Prayer For Complicated Relationships
1 Corinthians 13:4-5:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love never fails.
Dear Faithful Father,
I want so badly to glorify You through loving others, but I am struggling with some of the relationships in my life. I want there to be peace and love in these relationships, but pride and anger and hurt so often interfere with my good intentions. Please help me surrender these relationships to You and trust You to heal, restore, and reconcile.
Lord, remind me that even when these relationships are hard that you promise that love is patient and never fails. Renew my sense of hope that You are working in our lives and that love is worth fighting for. Thank You for Your overwhelming love in my life and that You have never given up on me.
So Lord, give me guidance and patience and steadfastness as I attempt to love the people in my life. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
8. A Prayer For Depression
Psalm 40:1-3:
I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.
Dear Jesus,
I feel so lost and overwhelmed by this darkness that surrounds me. I desperately need You to rescue me from this pit of despair. I long to feel hope and joy again, but it feels out of my grasp right now. Thank You that You hear my cries; You will reach Your hand down and lift me out of this pit.
Your mercies are new every single morning and Your compassions never fail. Because of Your great love, I will not be consumed. Please help me renounce the lies about myself I have accepted, leaving them at the cross of Jesus Christ. I choose instead to believe that I am loved, chosen, adopted, and that You rejoice over me with singing.
Restore to me the joy of my salvation and let me put my full hope in the power of Christ’s love for me. Let me fix my eyes on Jesus and believe that You are healing me. Thank You, Lord Jesus!
Amen
9. A Prayer For Chronic Illness
2 Corinthians 4:16-17:
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
Dear Father God,
You have been so good to me in my life, but battling this chronic illness every day has taken such a toll on my life. I believe that You are my Healer, but the constant pain and suffering I face can be overwhelming. Please give me the endurance to press onward and fight the battles that are before me.
Remind me that Your Word gives me inner strength and renews me day by day. Help me shine Your love to those who care for me even when I do not feel well, and allow me to accept the rest I need when You give it to me. Thank You that this earthly body is temporary and my faith in Christ gives me an incomparable eternal glory.
Lord, thank You for the love and grace and joy You pour into my life each day. Give me the faith and fortitude to glorify You despite my suffering. You alone deserve my praise and worship!
Amen
Remember that you are never alone as you journey through the trials of life and God is at work even during our most difficult moments. May God give you strength!
